Important Safety Information
Andarine (S-4) is an investigational SARM that has not been approved by the FDA for any human indication. Products marketed as andarine are considered unapproved new drugs when sold for human consumption. The FDA has determined that andarine is excluded from the dietary supplement definition, meaning it cannot legally be marketed as a dietary supplement.
Andarine is prohibited by WADA at all times, and its metabolites are well-characterized for doping control purposes. Athletes subject to drug testing should be aware that andarine is detectable and prohibited.
Important
Non-Medical Use
Andarine has no approved human indication. Non-medical use falls outside approved indications and carries health risks including hepatotoxicity, hormonal suppression, visual disturbances, and cardiovascular concerns. Product strength and laboratory verification do not establish safety for human consumption.
Potential Adverse Effects
Visual disturbances: Andarine's most distinctive side effect is visual disturbance, commonly described as a yellow tint to vision, particularly in low-light conditions, and difficulty with night vision. This effect is dose-dependent and typically reversible after stopping the compound. The mechanism is thought to involve andarine binding to receptors in the eye.
Hormonal suppression: Andarine can suppress endogenous testosterone production, with the degree depending on dose and cycle duration. Users may experience fatigue, reduced libido, and mood changes.
Liver injury: The FDA has issued warning letters citing liver toxicity concerns with SARMs, including andarine. A case report documented severe cholestatic drug-induced liver injury in a patient who used a supplement containing RAD-140 and andarine (S4). Liver damage is a serious potential side effect of andarine use.
Cardiovascular concerns: The FDA has stated that SARMs have the potential to increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.
Other reported effects: Sleep problems, upset stomach, and fertility problems have been reported with andarine use.
Conditions Requiring Medical Evaluation
Given the potential for liver injury and cardiovascular effects, any consideration of andarine exposure warrants comprehensive medical evaluation including liver function tests, lipid panel, and hormonal assessment. Individuals with pre-existing liver disease, cardiovascular disease, or hormone-sensitive conditions are at heightened risk. Women should be particularly cautious due to the potential for virilization effects, though andarine's tissue selectivity may reduce this risk compared to traditional androgens.
Monitoring During Therapy
There is no established monitoring protocol for non-medical andarine use. For any human exposure, liver function tests, lipid panel, testosterone levels, and general health assessment should be considered by a qualified healthcare professional. Bloodwork is recommended before, during, and after use.
