Important Safety Information
Drostanolone was historically used in specific clinical settings for breast cancer treatment, but it has fallen out of favor in the medical community due to the availability of safer alternatives. It is not approved for human use today and is classified as a controlled substance in many countries.
Anabolic steroids suppress the body’s own testosterone production and can affect fertility and endogenous hormone balance. Drostanolone has been associated with significant androgenic effects including hair loss in susceptible individuals.
Important
Non-Medical Use
Higher-than-physiologic exposure to anabolic steroids can carry additional health risks. Product concentration and laboratory verification do not establish that non-medical use is safe or appropriate for an individual. Drostanolone is a controlled substance and obtaining it without a prescription is illegal.
Potential Adverse Effects
Drostanolone is associated with hair loss in genetically predisposed individuals due to its DHT-derived structure. It can accelerate androgenic alopecia, and oral 5-alpha reductase inhibitors may not fully mitigate this effect.
Adverse lipid changes are a significant concern, including suppression of HDL cholesterol. Cardiovascular strain and possible prostate issues are also associated with drostanolone use. A case report has documented central serous chorioretinopathy in a bodybuilder using drostanolone enanthate among other compounds.
Other potential effects include acne, increased aggression, and suppression of natural testosterone production. Drostanolone is not 17-alpha-alkylated, so it is not liver-toxic by that mechanism.
Conditions Requiring Medical Evaluation
Drostanolone use is contraindicated in individuals with active or remitted prostate cancer, pre-existing prostate hypertrophy with urinary obstruction, untreated hypertension, and untreated dyslipidemia. Individuals with aggressive androgenic alopecia should also consider the risk of accelerated hair loss.
Existing cardiovascular disease, abnormal lipid profiles, and other medical conditions should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional before any consideration of use.
Monitoring During Use
Lipid values, particularly HDL cholesterol, should be monitored during drostanolone use. Prostate health monitoring, including PSA levels in men over 40, is recommended. Blood pressure and hematocrit should also be assessed periodically.
Laboratory testing of the product itself is separate from clinical monitoring of the person using the product. Product testing does not assess individual health status or suitability for use.
